It's been awhile, I seem to keep getting bogged down with life, I have had an interesting return to classes, having been away last week, I can't help thinking I might have missed something important. That's OK I'm sure someone will let me know. I have done the first draft for the interview in journalism and only have to get Ray's approval. I will finish this and do the reading for tomorrow and then keep going in the morning until class. I enjoy all the classes now the OH&S is finished with, and know I now look at all the writing and media around me and take more interest in the way it is presented. I enjoy the diversity of the classes with the different mix of ages and backgrounds because everyone wants to be there otherwise they wouldn't. I enjoy the discussions, the opinions, the readings, the speakers, pretty much all of it because I find it interesting and stimulating. I need the right balance of study and being mum this I struggle with the most because of the guilt factor. Hope everyone enjoyed the Anzac weekend.

Ballarat Writers Group

On Wednesday 10/03/2010, I went to the Ballarat Writers Group to listen to a reading from Tanya Andrusiak who is the lead author of 'Proofing your kids in a Media Saturated World'. Tanya read out her contribution in 'Getting Real Anthology'. It was about her journey through bulimia and the importance society puts on body image. Her reading was extremely riveting as she took you through the emotional roller coaster of trying to fit into the stereotype produced by societies obsession with the perfect body. Her story was one that everyone can relate to as we all struggle with self acceptance and the acceptance of others. I enjoyed the recital enormously and look forward to their next meeting
